As part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team, you will drive adoption of new processes, tools, and cultural behaviors of employees throughout the company to improve our company, customers, and community. At the same time you'll be supporting a larger cultural transformation taking place within Northwest Natural. Success for the projects depends on behavioral changes among our wide range of employees, so we need your expertise, passion, and creativity.
To deliver these results, you'll take the role of Change Lead on complex, high visibility company-wide projects, including new technology implementations, organizational restructuring, business model changes, and new business process development. You will collaborate with the project team to plan, prioritize, and execute change strategy and tactics. You will also serve in a strategic capacity to help build awareness of change management within NWN, as well as build repeatable change management processes, tools, and templates.
Day to Day:
- Be accountable for overall program and project-level change objectives, in close coordination with Program and Project Managers
- Serve as project change manager on mid-size to moderately complex projects.
- Manage the activity of change management contractors for large, complex projects.
- Developed specialized knowledge of impacted stakeholders’ needs and considerations related to change initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating efforts of project team members, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure an integrated change management effort.
- Partner with project team and business leaders as part of program team for initiatives and projects.
- Consult with officers, managers, supervisors and individual contributors to assess change impacts of process, technology, organizational structure, and policy shifts.
- Create change management plans to address and mitigate assessed impacts of change.
- Design and implement appropriate interventions for improving employee adoption and morale, ensuring user readiness, preparing leaders for change, and supporting enhancing cultural shifts.
- Design and develop change-related communications and deliverables such as presentations, FAQs, newsletters, key benefits, roadshows, surveys, etc.
- Recommend and facilitate group and team dialogue such as planning sessions, employee focus groups, feedback sessions, process improvement, and training.
- Support Company’s commitment to a culture of safe work practices.
Change Methodology and Curriculum
- Provide project deliverables as specified in the Project Management Office’s Change Management Handbook.
- Develop or enhance change management tools and methodology to build capability across the organization to lead change and improve personal resilience to change.
- Design or enhance change/transition management training curriculums and deliver training in a variety of forums.
- Develop and utilize change measurements and metrics to measure and track the effectiveness of change interventions at individual and organization levels; using approaches including survey feedback, focus groups,
- 360-degree assessments, and custom-designed measures. Interpret change measures and facilitate action planning with clients.
- Stay abreast of best practices in change management and lead evolution and assist in the continuous improvement of change methodology and curriculum.
- Serve as an organizational change consultant to clients and a mentor to internal change agents.
Come on your first day with:
- Thorough knowledge of organizational change, employee transition, organizational design, and culture change theories, models, and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with executives, management and team; overcome resistance in different settings and work cultures, influence stakeholders, and lead without formal authority.
- Experience and success authoring corporate and executive communications, with excellent grammar and persuasive writing skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts into accessible text.
- Solid project management skills; able to coordinate resources, establish schedules, track deliverables, and drive for results.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of training program design, adult learning theory, and state-of-the-art training techniques preferred.
- Utility industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development or Organizational Psychology or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in a change management approach such as PROSCI. Certification in a style assessment such as MBTI, Hogan, iOPT or similar is a plus.
- 8 plus years of progressive experience in change management consulting. Experience requires performing in a lead change role on mid-size or moderately complex initiatives or projects such as a technology implementation, process redesign, or restructuring and previous people management experience leading a team of professionals.

Base salary range: $110,250.00 - $157,100.00 per year, depending on qualifications
Annual Target Incentive: Level 3, 12.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
