Treasury Consultant Capital Markets 

Non-Union Position
Treasury; Portland, Oregon (US-OR)  

Hybrid schedule available for Oregon & Washington residents.

The Role:

 

Provide capital markets expertise, analysis, and recommendations that drive decisions, execution and strategy regarding the Company’s long-term financing plans. These financings support the Company’s investment in capital expenditures for the natural gas utility and the continued growth of its water & wastewater utilities. Communicate recommendations and support decision making of the CFO and Treasurer. Monitor and analyze credit and cash flow metrics, responsible for long-range financing forecast, and reporting on external capital market activities.

Day to Day:

 

  • Provides capital markets analysis including utility trends and valuation, and current utility financing trends.
  • Facilitate financing strategy for both the natural gas utility and the water utility M&A strategy, as well as project financing for renewable natural gas and other investments.
  • Lead development of long-range financing forecast in close collaboration with planning team and treasury department.
  • Assist in execution of debt and equity financings, working closely with Corporate Secretary’s team.
  • Reporting and analysis on cash flow metrics and credit metrics.
  • Assist with development of credit rating presentations, communications, and credit metric analysis.
  • Contributes to effective management of financing decisions by developing cash forecasts as needed. Analyzes budgets and forecasts cash receipts and disbursements for each planning time horizon.
  • Supports preparation of company’s SEC reporting filings.
  • Maintains technical knowledge/skills of established business practices and current trends in cash management. 
  • Works as a team member on special projects as needed.
  • Support Company’s commitment to a culture of safe work practices.

Come on your first day with:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other applicable fields and 8 years or more of Treasury experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Capital markets experience required; utility or banking background preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Treasury Professional helpful.
  • Proven skills in analyzing and evaluating capital markets data, preparing long-range financing forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • UI Planner experience a plus.
  • Motivated, works efficiently and effectively independently, but can also work effectively in a team environment.

Base salary range: $101,200.00 - $144,200.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Grade 22, 12.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
