The Role:

 

This position will play a pivotal role in:

  • Strategic financing decisions, capital allocation, scenario planning, and acquisition analysis; 
  • Communications and relationships with equity and fixed-income investors, rating agencies and banks; and 
  • Support our executive management and business development team as they make critical long-term business decisions to drive growth and value creation. 

 

This person will:

  • Ensure transparency and foster trust in our financial performance and corporate strategy through communications with investors and external stakeholders
  • Support corporate development and manage strategic finance projects including capital raising, acquisition finance strategies, equity strategies, long-term forecasting and other related projects. 

 

As a fast-growing diversified utility, we are seeking a highly skilled, self-starter with experience in Investor Relations and Strategic Finance or a related field. 

Day to Day:

 

  • Manage financing activities including debt issuances, at-the-market equity issuances, and strategic financing for acquisitions.
  • Manage communication with existing and potential investors, including institutional investors and analysts.
  • Prepare and disseminate financial reports, earnings releases, and other investor communications.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and investor feedback.
  • Assist with managing relationships with banks and financial institutions, rating agencies and fixed-income investors.
  • Prepare financing reports and provide senior management with insights and help with long-term, strategic decisions. 
  • Collaborate with the finance, business development, legal, and executive teams and work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
  • Ad-hoc finance projects and analysis.
  • Demonstrates leadership and strategic decision-making behaviors; maintains technical job knowledge and personal skill development; committed to coaching and developing employees. 
  • This position requires travel approximately 1-2 times each quarter.

Come on your first day with:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related business field. MBA and utility experience preferred. Professional certification (e.g., CTP, CFA, CPA) is a plus. 
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in business, preferably investor relations, finance, accounting, treasury, or a related field.
  • Understanding of financial statements and capital market analysis, and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting. 
  • Self-starter, curious mindset, strong time-management with keen attention to detail, ability to quickly build relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills. Ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.

Base salary range: $120,450.00 - $171,650.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Manager, 15.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
