As a Procurement Manager, you will lead a team of buyers supporting Construction, Engineering, and Operations. This role is pivotal in shaping sourcing strategies, optimizing procurement processes, and building strong supplier relationships to deliver cost efficiencies and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and value-driven procurement aligned with company goals for safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship.

Day to Day:

 

Team Leadership:

  • Build and develop a high-performing team of buyers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure professional growth and alignment with organizational objectives.


Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for engineering services, construction services, materials, and operational supplies.
  • Understand market dynamics, cost drivers, and supplier capabilities within these sectors.


Contract Negotiation & Risk Management:

  • Negotiate complex agreements, including EPC contracts, engineering services, maintenance agreements, and material supply contracts.
  • Apply risk mitigation strategies such as performance guarantees and compliance provisions.


Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships with contractors, engineering firms, and material suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve disputes effectively.


Project Procurement Expertise:

  • Manage procurement for large-scale engineering and construction projects.
  • Align sourcing activities with project schedules and critical path requirements.


Financial Acumen:

  • Oversee budgets, conduct cost analysis, and forecast for multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Apply total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle costing principles.


Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge:

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

  •  Partner with Engineering, Construction, and Operations leadership to anticipate needs and influence procurement strategy.


Digital Procurement Tools:

  • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) and e-sourcing platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Fieldglass).
  • Leverage analytics for spend visibility and supplier performance tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of management experience in procurement or strategic sourcing; with a significant preference for experience in utility, construction, or engineering related industries.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Skilled negotiation, contract management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Fieldglass) and procurement analytics tools.

Base salary range: $107,500.00 - $153,200.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Manager, 15.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
