The Role:

 

To support the Company with Real Property matters, leases and lease management, gas storage and permit procurement and tracking, and both internal and external customers with land and related inquiries. Compiles and manages data; tracks, analyzes and reports results. Maintains reference information and databases. Ensures activities are performed in accordance with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements.  

Day to Day:

 

  • Creating, managing and tracking land and lease files and other real estate related deeds and payments on leases, analyzing and entering data into SAP Real Estate, researching information, assisting in the acquisition process and maintaining the Land and Lease filing systems and SharePoint site.
  • Supporting the Claims Agents with the creation, management and tracking of easement and temporary easement files and other easement related recordings, mortgage notification, payments for easements and entering data into SAP Real Estate, research information, assisting in maintenance of the easement process.  Responsible for recordkeeping and recording of easements and leases
  • Creating, managing and tracking gas storage surface, mineral and royalty agreements, analyzing and entering data into SAP Real Estate module, researching information and preparation of payment documents for review, assisting in the storage acquisition process and maintenance of the existing agreements.
  • Creating, managing and tracking permit files, licenses, railroad agreements, analyzing and entering data, researching information and preparation of permits and licenses, payment of permits and licenses, renewal of permits and licenses while maintaining the proper distribution of permits and licenses to NW Natural sites.
  • Assisting as needed/directed with department’s budget, land bank account, balance statements and preparation of land payment distribution and account database.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Technical Accounting teams for quarterly review of leases or other information needs
  • Responding to frequent questions and inquiries from internal and external constituents regarding leases, easements, gas storage agreements, land, license and permit inquiries.
  • Assists in developing and providing other land-related information and reports as needed

Come on your first day with:

 

  • Requires an associates’ degree, para-legal education or equivalent education and experience with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience for level 2.  Additional experience required for level 3. SAP/ land data base file management systems, and/or real estate experience preferred. 
  • Prior knowledge of the following subjects is desired: utility operations, Federal and State regulations, land acquisition is desirable.
  • Requires high attention to detail, independent judgment, self-motivation and the ability to work with short deadlines and limited supervision as well as function as a strong team player. 
  • Ability to maintain tact, diplomacy and confidentiality when communicating both orally and in writing with internal and external customers at all levels, under sometimes stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced word processing and office software programs, file management data base systems and related applications.
  • Experience with SAP, insurance and real estate module, and SharePoint is required.

Base salary range: $72,950.00 - $100,050.00 (Level 2) or $86,500.00 - $123,250.00 (Level 3) per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Level 2, 7.5% target
                                           Level 3, 9.5% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
